Casa Wabi

Located within the territory of Casa Wabi on Oaxaca’s Pacific coast, the project explores the relationship between domestic space and a vast landscape shaped by the ocean, mountains, heat and intense light. Through a restrained architectural language, the house establishes a sequence of protected interiors, shaded transitions and carefully framed views, mediating between the intimacy of domestic life and the scale of the surrounding territory.

While working at Aires Mateus, Diego Fortun led the project as the sole project architect responsible for its architectural development and documentation. His role included developing the design, producing and coordinating the architectural drawings, managing the multidisciplinary consultant team and overseeing the integration of structural and engineering requirements into the project.
